LHRW Members Attend 2010 POWER Rally
LHRW members attended the 2010 POWER Rally on September 11, 2010 at the Royal Oaks Country Club. Congressman Jeb Hensarlking was the featured speaker with guests including State Senator John Carona, Representative Will Hartnett, and Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich appeared at Borders Bookstore Olde Towne on October 22, 2009 to promote his new book To Try Men's Souls. Susan Fountain and Lynda Bauer were excited to be able to ask questions of Speaker Gingrich after a short speech about his book, then posed for pictures!

Attending the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Legislative Day held in Austin on April 16, 2009 were LHRW members Glee Huebner, Gloria Gibeau, Ray Huebner and Linda Russell who visited with Representative Will Hartnett at his office at the State Capitol Building.

In conjunction with National Tea Parties held all over the country on April 15, 2009 local supporters gathered at Dallas City Hall and was an exciting day to protest the present administration's new taxes. Nancy Rynder was able to voice her opinion loudly on her sign while Gloria Gibeau looks on in background on left.

Attending the Reagan Day Gala on February 26, 2009 at the Westin Park Central Hotel were LHRW members Thomas Howell, Jane Howell, President, Jan Woody and The Honorable Bruce Woody. Jan and Judge Woody were honored recipients of the Volunteer of the Year award. They have been active and contributing volunteers for many years. Congratulations and we appreciate your many hours of volunteerism!

Lake Highlands Republican Women Club members have collected over 200 books and magazines to give to the VA Hospital for their patients to read. This is an out reach program that the members will continue for the rest of the calendar year. Carolyn Brunkenhoefer is Chair of Outreach & Community Projects.
